Illegal Immigration – Why Those Who Oppose it Are Called Racist
By Stephanie Keller
Sep 6th
This is a question I, along with most informed Americans I’m sure, have been asking ourselves for the last few months. When Gov. Brewer and the legislatures in Arizona decided to establish their own laws for dealing with illegal immigrants, the vast majority of Americans applauded. The few, not so silent minority however, took to the streets, internet and MSM (mainstream media) to protest. Why? I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around what it is that was so wrong about SB-1070.
Statistically speaking, illegal immigration costs American tax payers over 100 billion dollars a year. That’s with a “B” folks. Now I know that when the zeros start to add up, people tend to turn away. Those staggering amounts tend to leave people a bit dumbfounded, but what if you calculate the individual burden? There are approximately 310 million people that live in the U.S. and only a third of that number actually pays taxes. That leaves 100 million people to pay 100 billion dollars to house, feed, educate and employ another country’s citizens. Do you think the Mexican government would be so generous with their taxpayers’ money? Doubtful. In fact, their own immigration laws call for jail time and deportation of illegal immigrants. Try entering their country, undocumented, and see if you can protest their laws, burn their flags and call their citizens racist. Life in the New York sewers would be more appealing than where they would stick your butt.
So, why then is our federal government falling all over themselves to come up with “immigration reform”? What needs to be reformed? Just enforce the laws that are already in place and allow individual states the freedom to protect their citizens. I doubt it would cost more than 100 billion dollars, annually, to protect our borders.
America is under threat of terrorist activity daily and our government keeps our borders open like a bordello in the red light district. When Americans take issue, we’re told we’re heartless racists. Why? If the MSM did their job and reported on the concerns of the majority in this country, instead of propping up the minority, maybe those anti-American rallies (where they burn our flag) would get less air time and actual citizen concerns would be brought to light. At what point, do you think, the MSM will stop lending their collective voices to those who wish to harm and dismantle our country? At what point, do you think, they will stop commentating and start actually reporting? This is a huge issue. Americans are busy. They rely on their local news sources to give them unbiased information. A good majority of people do not delve further into whatever headline they’ve read or heard to check on the validity of the story or to merely get another view point. It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is and the MSM knows it. This is what gives them leave to provide Americans with biased commentary, all while pretending to be journalists. So, what, you might ask yourself, could the MSM have to gain by telling Americans anyone who opposes enforcement of the immigration laws or supports SB 1070 are simply anti-Mexican? Well, I don’t have an all-inclusive answer, but I can tell you what I believe. Our omnipresent government and it’s politicians need, what will from now on be called “Perception Managers” aka MSM, to further their own personal agendas. This is how our humble civil servants enter office paupers and leave multi-millionaires. Make no mistake; there is tons of back scratching going on. I’d bet that aforementioned 100 billion on the fact that these media moguls get paid back in the form of lesser regulations or even cold hard cash. So, why do our officials want us to believe we are racist? Because they need the Hispanic votes, plain and simple. With the coming midterm elections that appear to be leaning right, they’ll need every vote they can get to keep them in office.

ICE officers released man charged in nun’s death

WASHINGTON — A Bolivian man charged with killing a nun in a car crash in Virginia had at least two previous drunken driving convictions and had been released twice by immigration officers who took him into custody because he was in the United States illegally.
Carlos A. Martinelly Montano, 23, was charged in Sunday’s accident in Virginia’s Prince William County. Sister Denise Mosier, a nun with the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia, died in the crash, and two others, Sisters Charlotte Lange and Connie Ruth Lupton, were injured. They remained in critical condition on Wednesday, a spokeswoman, Sister Glenna Smith, wrote in an e-mail.
A wake for Mosier was planned for Thursday evening and a funeral Mass and burial for Friday, both at the nuns’ Bristow, Va., monastery, according to its website.

The accident occurred as the nation has become divided over how much authority police should have to check the immigration status of people they stop. Some in Virginia would like to expand that authority, similar to a tough law Arizona recently passed. That law is under review in federal court.
In a statement on their website, the nuns said they’re upset that the tragedy is being politicized and “become an apparent forum for the illegal immigration agenda.”
“While grieving and dealing with the death and severe injuries of our sisters, we would like to refocus attention on the consequences of drinking and driving, and on Christ’s command to forgive,” the nuns say in the statement.
Montano did not serve any prison time for his first drunken driving conviction in 2007 and only served a fraction of the sentence from his second conviction in 2008.
Under state laws, “potentially, he could have been taken off the street for a year, but as a practical matter that doesn’t ever happen,” said Paul Ebert, the Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney. “This guy got treated pretty leniently, but this is a typical disposition.”
After the 2008 arrest, local officers alerted Immigration and Customs Enforcement to Montano twice. Both times, the immigration officers released Montano with orders to show up for deportation hearings and to regularly check in, which he did, said a federal law enforcement source who is familiar with Montano’s criminal history, but who declined to be named because of the current crash investigation.
Homeland Security Department officials declined to comment Wednesday. They referred to a statement issued Tuesday that says Secretary Janet Napolitano is reviewing why Montano was released by ICE.
Montano is being held at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center on charges of drunken driving, involuntary manslaughter and felony driving on a revoked license. Ebert said he will ask a grand jury to indict Montano on charges of felony murder, which is an unintentional homicide committed during a felony. The charge is punishable by up to 40 years in prison.
Chris Konschak, Mothers Against Drunk Driving Virginia program manager, said people arrested for drunken driving should serve full sentences.
“We just don’t want people driving drunk. We don’t really care where they are from. If you are a visitor it is just as tragic. A drunk driver on the road puts us all at risk,” Konschak said.
