In fiscal year 2010, ICE set a record for overall removals of illegal aliens, with more than 392,000 removals nationwide. More than 195,000 of those removals were convicted criminals. The fiscal year 2010 statistics represent increases of more than 23,000 removals overall and 81,000 criminal removals compared to fiscal year 2008.
Since January 2009, ICE has audited more than 3,200 employers suspected of hiring illegal labor, debarred 225 companies and individuals, and imposed approximately $50 million in financial sanctions.

KTVQ: New Mexico Poll Shows Voters Support Policies on Illegal Immigrants
Sep 6th
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – A poll in Sunday’s Albuquerque Journal suggests New Mexico voters strongly disapprove of the state’s policy of giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants and a
majority of them support Arizona’s new immigration law. Fifty-three percent of respondents indicated they favor Arizona’s law, while 35 percent said they disapprove. Seven percent expressed mixed feelings while 5 percent answered don’t know or wouldn’t say.
University of New Mexico assistant political science professor Gabriel Sanchez says the poll shows New Mexicans do not favor the Arizona law as much as the rest of the country, but that the
state’s voters are becoming more disenchanted with illegal immigrants.
